Since we last went to mediation i have attempted to build bridges with Laura and her family as i know the current situation is of benefit to no one. I offered to have a meeting with her parents and her in their family home, noting to her father that we haven't once sat down and discussed the situation once since the saga began. And i wrote a genuine heartfelt email to Laura, in which i referenced the great 5 years we spent together and admitted my previous mistakes regarding spiky emails etc, and how i am ready to leave the anger behind and move forward. Both were ignored, her dad simply confirming the date of next weeks meeting [i went through her dad and said i will stay the full 2 hours] and Laura simply not responding at all [although as she admitted last week her dad vets her emails so perhaps she didn't see it

i have been trying to get into Laura's mindset and to try and understand why she would be so against me and Campbell having a relationship and i came to two conclusions

1- Laura believes herself to be entitled to be Campbells one and only protector having gave up the following for him when she left and went to her parents when he was 2 weeks old

her husband
her home
her job
her friends
in essence her current lifestyle

she believes that having essentially given all that up for him she has earned the right, that she is entitled to behave in the way she is currently doing and that her prize for such a selfless act is total control of Campbell. I would like to impress on her that it isn't a selfless act at all, yet a most selfish one as she continues to deprive Campbell of his father and an extended family that love him unconditionally

Lauras parents constant reassurance [which she admitted she craves and needs] of what a great mother she is only strengthening her belief thats she is the only one capable of caring for him and is building further walls between me and her and therefore me and Campbell. With every passing week of me not seeing him will only harden her resolve on this matter

this leads on to my second point, she has invested too much. Having given up the aforementioned things she has created a life in which Campbell is all dominating. The thought of giving him up 50% of the time or even as little as one night a week, cannot be comprehended as it would leave an unimaginable void in her life. She has created an existence where he is everything and any time parted from him absolutely petrifies her. She doesn't see me as worthy of being involved and created such a hole in here life

This has lead to her to putting herself on a pedestal way above me in relation to Campbell and has cultivated her current attitude of refusing to engage with me at all. I just need to her to be aware that her reasons and feelings towards me cannot continue to harm the relationship between me and Campbell

I genuinely believe we can make progress in mediation, it just concerns me whether we will have adequate time before we end up back in court. I think engaging Laura in a discussion with considered the points made above will be a move forward in our progression

Both SPIP and your notes mention how important communication is and for whatever reason that communication is not forthcoming from Laura's end. If we can begin to communicate like adults i am certain the situation will rapidly improve and hopefully result in us not going to court

Thanks for taking the time to read of my concerns and i hope it will help the situation. I am already looking forward to next wednesday and am positive we can progress and make plans for the future having vented our anger about previous events

Many thanks

Now that you have played and lost in your childish and malicious games RE Campbell it is time for contemplation.

You hurt me in a manner i would have never dreamed you capable of and your actions were those of an evil person. My love for you, which was once unconditional, disappeared having been washed away ebb by ebb, eroded by the wickedness of your actions against me over these past few months, to the point now where i feel empty about you.

I wish you to reflect on a few things

In the five years we were together i would like for you to weigh up the amount of times that i made you cry and compare that to the amount of times your mum did the same. If you are honest with yourself i am sure you will come to the correct conclusion as to who truly is the controlling and abusing element in your life

Think on that and ask yourself, over the next four bleak days without Campbell in that oppressive and mental household if you made the right decision

Reflect truthfully on the Saturday that ended us [when i went suit shopping for my Grandad's funeral] and ask yourself if being honest with me about struggling to cope on your own with Campbell would have been a better option than to run back to your parents with our child in tow and slapping draconian visitations rights on me [for a 2nd time] as if i was a common criminal. Ask yourself if the practical assistance i gave you that evening was better than the constant reassuring words you seemed to crave

I am sure i could have done things better and i deeply regret not paying more attention to how you were feeling, perhaps i was entrenched too much in the comfort zone and didn't see the signs as soon as i should have. But you weren't brave enough to be honest with me, you never trusted me enough to let me know of your demons and throwing me over for your mums controlling hand was a very weak and child like response to the situation. I also apologise that i was not able to become the spineless clone of your father that you clearly wished me to be

Your selfish and vindictive actions showed a frightening lack of care for mine and Campbells needs and your attempts to separate us and destroy the bond that me and him should have shared the last few months was a disgusting act

Assessing your parents behaviour during this saga, especially during my 60 minutes visits, has been a real eye opener in regards to the mental issues you and your sister have experienced during your childhoods and beyond. I hope that you are good on your vow that you will be moving to a place of your own as i would feel troubled by Campbell being brought up in that environment

On reflection I do find it difficult not to hold other parties respsonsible for us ending up here. Yet at the end of the day you are a 31 year old woman and so it is you who ultimately has to take the blame for ruining our marriage and subjecting Campbell to a childhood from a broken family. Depriving me of being involved in stage one of his childhood was unforgivable and accusing me of abusing you and Campbell was simply wicked. Seeing those boxes ticked made me finally accept that the woman i loved and cherished for the past five years no longer exists

I will see you on Thursday. Please do not try and contact me until then as i need some bonding time alone with our son without your interference. If you do try to illicit conversation you will garner no response from me

I will pay for the divorce and it will simply be a case of you signing it. I have already set the wheels in motion and you should be receiving a letter from my solicitor shortly on the subject.
It should be pretty routine as the Parental rights are now obviously sorted and there is no mortgage, car or major undertakings that need divided

Having loved the person you were as much as i did, I truly am devastated it ended like this

Acomb Stakes Group 3

Adventurous- Useful Colt who brings the highest official rating into this, having finished 4th behind the impressive Shalaa in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. Looks sure to appreciate the extra furlong today and his trainer has been sensational in the Juvenile department this year. For all that it would rate as disappointing were he to prove good enough against some exciting unexposed rivals

Bing Bang Bong- Unlucky not to be unbeaten, having met all kinds of trouble of debut at Pontefract before making no mistake in a weak maiden auction event at Newmarket on his second start. The bare form doesn't amount too much, but it is interesting that his shrewd trainer is willing to sacrifice a mark of 85 to run here [the 50k Nursery later in the card was an attractive alternative] Could offer a bit of value and not ruled out

Cymric- Expensive son of Kittens Joy who made his debut in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot. He predictably found that too tough a task before striking on his second start at Sandown. He was perhaps fortunate to win that day [the runner up was wildly unlucky] and will need another step forward if he is to take this

Dream Mover- Expensive breeze up purchase who took a Nottingham maiden on his second start in taking fashion under today's jockey. The owners don't often swim in waters too deep and his entries in the Mill Reef and the Dewhurst need noting. Looks overs in the market and could be capable of running into the frame

Humphrey Bogart- Improved for the step up the seven furlongs when winning a Doncaster maiden last time. That form has been let down since and he is likely to need a mile plus sooner rather than later. Makes minimal appeal in such a deep event

Jaadu- Beat a useful rival in a deep Goodwood Nursery last time, but that was off a mark of 71 and he looks to be flying too high here

Kentuckyconnection- Was very well backed on debut and duly made no mistake when easing to a near 3 length victory at Redcar. Knew his job that day [was a 60k breeze up purchase] and was found a weak maiden in which to land a touch. A seventh furlong should be in his favour, but he needs a big leap in performance from first to second start if he is to contend here

Lieutenant General- Aidan O Brien raider who is disputing for market supremacy. He took 4 attempts to break the maiden and doesn't appear to be one of Coolmores leading lights. That is why he heads here and he needs to be taken on at the prices against a strong home challenge

Mohab- Exciting son of Sir Percy who was well touted on debut over course and distance when finishing 3rd as a short priced favourite. Was a bit green that day but looked far more professional when waltzing in by 8 lengths on his 2nd start at Catterick. His trainer often targets this race with his better juveniles and nominated this as the target straight after that facile win. He looks a colt full of potential and should be bang there at the finish

Recorder- Bred in the purple and announced himself as a colt with a future with a debut full of promise at Newbury. He finished hard on the steel that day and with a better run would have almost certainly prevailed. He was much more streetwise on his second run when taking a useful Newmarket maiden in soft ground. The booking of Frankie Dettori is eyecatching and everything points to a big run

Verdict- An intriguing renewal in which no less than 9 of the 10 participants arrive here on the back of a victory. The two to concentrate on appear to be Recorder and Mohab, with slight preference for the latter who appeals a fraction more for the here and now. He was well found on the market on debut and made no mistake second up when bolting up by a wide margin at Catterick. His trainer is not adverse to running his top juveniles here and everything is geared to a big display. Recorder is well respected under Dettori and he appeals as the one to take out of the race going forward. Of the rest Big Bang Bong makes some appeal, with his shrewd trainer willing to sacrifice a favourable handicap mark by pointing here. Dream Mover is another to consider

1 Mohab
2 Recorder
3 Bing Bang Bong
