Titanic Belfast Winkfield Stakes Listed

                                          Titanic Belfast Winkfield Stakes Listed

Diaz- A winner of one of his three starts, and has ran with credit on each trip to the racecourse, however the form of those contests haven't proved strong in the context of this race. His trainer continues to fire in the winners in this age group [SR OF 21%] but with an OR of 92 potentially flattering him, he looks up against it in this company

Disegno- Well related Fastnet Rock colt who represents the hottest Trainer/Jockey combination in Britain right now. Showed up well on debut when 3rd over an inadequate 6 furlongs at Newmarket, before improving for the extra furlong when readily taking a Kempton maiden. The form of that race looks underwhelming, but he has the potential to rate much better than that and must not be underestimated

Kodi Bear- Finished a close up 2nd to the subsequent Coventry favourite Adaay on debut before finishing ahead of that horse at Ascot when placing 5th beaten 2.5 lengths behind the Wow Signal. There are mixed messages from the Coventry form so far, but it was obviously still a run full of credit on only his 2nd start. Clive Cox's juveniles have really picked up of late and he is a credible contender

Muhaarar- A half Brother to crack Meydan sprinter Tamaathul and looks a useful Colt in the making himself. An impressive winner on debut, where he had Royal Ascot runner up Union Rose well in arrears. He then performed with immense credit when 3rd next time in a red hot July Stakes. The winner that day is the most impressive 2yo seen in the UK this year and the runner up is rated 106, so the form is rock solid. Could well improve for the extra furlong here and he rates as the one to beat

Peacock- Stoutly bred Paco Boy colt who had 4 subsequent winners, including of the Chesham, behind him when taking a 6 furlong maiden at Newmarket on debut. Was well fancied in the betting that day and showed a willing attitude to win snugly in the end. Will likely improve for the step up in trip and his fearsome team have taken the race in the last 2 years. Looks the main threat to the selection

Ustinov- A ready winner on his 2nd start, having ran well in a useful maiden on debut. However he placed dead last in the July Stakes and it takes a leap of faith to see him winning here

Verdict- A cracking listed contest in which Muhaarar can add his name to a roll of honour which includes Ravens Pass and Toranado in recent years. On a line with Jungle Cat he is very well matched with Kodi Bear but there are reasons to believe he can prove better than that rival, with the step up in trip likely to suit. His run in the July was also his 1st in 2 months and he will likely improve from it. His main danger is the well regarded Peacock, whose debut win at Newmarket is working out well. The Hannon team are looking for a hat trick in this race and he has to be accounted for. Michael Stoute doesn't over face his juveniles and the fact he pitches Disegno into Listed company suggests he is a capable type. He appeals as the best of the rest

1 Muhaarar
2 Peacock
3 Disegno
